Clubs Action Planning Scheme (CAPS)

Roundwood was recently awarded Silver CAPS accreditation in the Clubs Action Planning Scheme (CAPS).  There are only two clubs in Surrey that have currently achieved the Silver status, and Roundwood is proud to be one of them. 

CAPS helps clubs to function in the most efficient way and is all about good practice in the development of players, coaches and umpires at all levels. The CAPS process highlights all the good development work that clubs are already doing; this clarifies roles and gives help and positive encouragement to new volunteers – those who might usually hesitate before coming forward. CAPS also offers a way of maximising safe and child-friendly activities and focuses on four key areas: duty of care and child protection, coaching and competition, club management and administration and sports equity and ethics. Community links are created and strengthened. These help to attract more members, spread the administrative workload and increase the possibility of securing funding or better facilities. CAPS is the gateway to a strong regional and national network of support and communication.

Roundwood Netball Club are commited to providing a safe environment for all players, and want to get as many people involved in netball as possible.  We are an open club and welcome players of all standards.

All coaches and volunteers that help out at Roundwood are CRB checked before being able to work alongside the children.  However, we do have some volunteers who are under 18 who help train the under 14’s, so we require them to complete a self declaration form instead of the CRB check.
